NSAB Resource Spotlight

Sharing Resources Through NSABConnect

October’s NSABConnect member discussion group explored “Best Practices in Family History Research”, sparking a lively and generous exchange of ideas. Members shared websites, tools, and strategies that have helped them trace and better understand their Arab family histories.

We’re excited to share some of these resources with you in the hope that they support your own research journey—and to invite you to join the National Society for Arab and Arab American Genealogy as we learn and discover together. NSAB members also enjoy exclusive free access to our recorded webinars, complete with handouts. Because when it comes to family history, researching together makes all the difference. NSAB is not promoting any product or site listed – these were links or products discussed, shared or suggested by members during our October 2025 discussion.

Summer 2023 Update

We received a great initial response to our social media pages launch in April on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, from both public interactions and messages. If you haven’t already followed us, please see the links at the top of this page. Our nonprofit status has been approved and we are in the process of setting up the members portal which will be found on our website. We are very excited about the interest in Arab and Arab American genealogy and look forward to building relationships with you all!

National Society for Arab and Arab American Genealogy – Launched

Ahlan wa Sahlan! Welcome! Our organization kicked off in April 2023 with a soft launch to get us started! We are planning to introduce our membership features in late April 2024. As we are actively setting up, we hope that you will follow this page or check back for more information. This organization is for anyone interested in genealogy, family history, community history or family stories in relation to Arab ancestors. It is also for those who do not identify as Arabs but are from Arabic speaking countries. It is an organization for the new immigrant, the descendant of great grandparents who came to the United States in the 1800’s or before, as well as someone who didn’t know they had roots from an Arabic speaking country, but a DNA test held a surprise. Join us for a virtual cup of Arabic coffee as we launch this exciting endeavor.

Arab American Heritage Month

Celebrating the rich and diverse culture and contributions of Arab Americans, Arab American Heritage Month is now recognized on national, state, and local levels. In the spirit of this month, we will be sharing the founding of our organization with the creation of a website and much more. Check back as we develop this site further. The National Society for Arab and Arab American Genealogy strives to foster an interest in Arab and Arab American genealogy, through encouraging education, research, writing and recording family histories and preserving records. #ArabAmericanHeritageMonth
